This Week’s Toyota “Let’s Go Places” Toyota Camry… Kenny Wallace will pilot RAB Racing with Brack Maggard chassis No. 42 in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. A workhorse of the RAB Racing stable, this Toyota Camry has raced 11 times in 2012, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway in March, at Texas Motor Speedway in April, at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, at Michigan International Speedway and Kentucky Speedway in June, at Iowa Speedway in August, at Richmond International Raceway and Kentucky Speedway in September, and at Kansas Speedway in October. Most recently, this chassis raced at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks ago. Drivers Alex Bowman, Brett Moffitt, Travis Pastrana, Ryan Truex and Kenny Wallace have each driven this chassis, with Wallace posting a seventh-place finish as its best result at Auto Club Speedway.
Welcome Back … RAB Racing’s Toyota Camry will sport the familiar colors of red and white as the Toyota’s “Let’s Go Places” campaign adorns the No. 99. “Let’s Go Places” evokes the forward-looking and optimistic momentum of Toyota in America. It invites consumers on a journey to see new places, discover new possibilities and dream big dreams together with Toyota.
Wallace at Homestead … In 12 Nationwide Series starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Wallace owns five top-20 finishes and 78 laps led. His best finish, 14th, came in November, 1996. The St. Louis native has completed 2,341 of 2,403 possible laps at the 1.5-mile oval, and has an average finish of 23.6.
Are You Experienced? … In addition to his 12 previous NNS starts at the 1.5-mile venue, Wallace has competed in seven Sprint Cup Series races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, posting his track-best finish of 14th in November, 2001.
RAB Racing at Homestead … In three previous Nationwide Series starts at the south Florida track, RAB Racing entries have recorded one top-20 finish with driver Brian Scott.
The Collective RAB Racing Report … With 32 of 33 races completed this season, RAB Racing’s two NASCAR Nationwide Series entries have notched one top-five and four top-10 finishes. RAB Racing-prepared Toyotas have also completed 5,480 laps with its eight drivers – Bowman, Patrick Carpentier, Victor Gonzalez, Jr., Brett Moffit, Pastrana, Townley, Ryan Truex and Wallace.
Get to the Points … As we head into the last race of the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season, RAB Racing currently occupies the 18th position in the owner’s points standings.
Get Well, Torie … In recognition of his 16-year-old daughter Torie Costa’s battle with childhood rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue malignant tumor of skeletal muscle origin that accounts for approximately 3.5% of the cases of cancer among children aged 0 to 14 years, crew chief Scott Zipadelli and the members of RAB Racing’s Nationwide Series team are wearing pink bracelets in support of Torie.
