Danny Efland to return to JD Motorsports w/Gary Keller for 2013 Nationwide season

JD MotorsportsTeam is seeking qualified mechanics, truck driver and marketing partners

GAFFNEY, S.C. (January 22, 2013) – JD Motorsports w/Gary Keller has signed Irmo, S.C. native Danny Efland to drive the team’s No. 4 Chevrolet for the majority of NASCAR Nationwide Series races this season.

Efland, who also drove in 18 NNS races last year, made 17 starts in the JD Motorsports No. 4 Chevrolet. This year, he will drive in each race except the Auto Club Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, both Iowa Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway events.

For those events, the team has brought back Daryl Harr, from St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, to drive. He competed in eight races with JD Motorsports in 2012.

Efland’s best finishes last year were two 13th-place showings at Daytona International Speedway.

“This is a great opportunity to drive more races for Johnny Davis and the JD Motorsports team this year,” Efland said. “We did well for the 17 races we ran last year and everyone in that shop has been working hard in the off-season to get cars ready.

“We’re all starting on the same page with these new bodies and I think that will play well in to our hands. Having a teammate like Mike Wallace (No. 01 Chevrolet driver) is nothing but beneficial.

“I’m looking forward to starting off on a good note at Daytona, and continuing that through the rest of the season.”

While the driver seat situation is solidified for 2013, the team is still seeking qualified shop mechanics and a hauler driver for their team. And, like all teams on the NASCAR circuit, they are seeking marketing partners for both the No. 01 and No. 04 Chevrolets.

“It’s good to have our driver line-up sealed up for the season,” said Davis, who has been the owner for 475 NNS starts since starting in 2002. “We have Mike (Wallace) coming back to provide leadership, and we have Danny (Efland) and Daryl (Harr) in our No. 4 cars. I’m very pleased having those drivers in our cars this year.

“We have plenty of room on our cars for sponsorship and marketing partners. We’re affordable and will show up ready to race each week. We also need a little bit of help in the shop.

“But, we’ll be in Daytona and Mike is going to run up front like he always does at the plate tracks. Who knows, maybe we can get that fourth Daytona win for him this year.”
