BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY HOSTS JEFF FOXWORTHY’S GRIT CHIPS 300

BMSGeorgia Company, Iconic Track Agree to Four-Year Partnership for Nationwide Race

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013) – Let’s face it, some things just “belong” together. So when Roswell Food Group CEO Sean McDonough saw the chance to pair one of the South’s favorite comfort foods with one of the country’s favorite snack items, Grit Chips were born.

Even better, when his young company was presented with the opportunity to pair their new snack with perhaps the one person who represented the South better than anyone – Jeff Foxworthy’s Original Grit Chips became a reality.

Taking this idea of great “pairings” one step further, McDonough and his Roswell Food Group have agreed to a four-year deal to host the spring Nationwide race at iconic Bristol Motor Speedway, creating what may be the perfect blend of racing, regionalism and great taste!

“Whether it’s business, marriage or a driver looking for a great crew chief, everyone looks for a partnership that is the right fit,” said BMS General Manager Jerry Caldwell. “The combination of a Southern flavor like grits, the undeniable popularity of snack chips and the unsurpassed heritage of Bristol Motor Speedway just created one of those great “ah-ha” moments when you find yourself saying: “of course!”

One person who couldn’t agree more is McDonough, who sees Bristol as yet another in a long line of great “pairings,” for the “grit chip.”  “It really makes sense combining Grit Chips, Jeff Foxworthy, Bristol Motor Speedway and Food City who are all great individually” says McDonough, “but together they spawn what may be the most common sense marriage of product, place and star power to hit either side of the Mason Dixon line.”

Foxworthy – a big NASCAR fan himself – has been a true believer in the pairing since Day 1, even commenting on the night he and McDonough announced the new venture that “the stars must be aligned perfectly.” Said Foxworthy: “This is a great pairing, the kind of thing you don’t see coming; but it seems right when it does. Plus these darn chips are good, and now I get ‘em half price!”

Appropriately enough, McDonough sees the chip’s new tagline – “Just One More Thing To Love About The South™” – as the perfect description for everything that will happen at Bristol during the action-packed Spring races. And with more than 250,000 fans set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and an exciting weekend of racing, it’s a good time for folks to plan to be a part of the exciting new Spring tradition that is the “Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300!”

Starting at just $35, good seats remain for the March 16 Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300. Seats for children 15-and-under are half price of the corresponding adult tickets. Weekend packages for Saturday’s races and Sunday’s Food City 500 also are available starting at $99. Season tickets, which include both Sprint Cup races and both Nationwide events, also may be purchased starting at just $175.
