Roush Fenway Gears up for Daytona 500
With NASCAR Speedweeks in full gear, Roush Fenway Racing moves into this weekend looking to repeat as Daytona 500 champions. Greg Biffle led the RFR effort with runner-up finishes in last weekend’s Sprint Unlimited and Thursday’s Duel events. Biffle will look to continue the charge for Roush Fenway as it moves into the second weekend of Speedweeks.

Changes In Latitude
This weekend will mark the debut of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the NSCS No. 17, Trevor Bayne in the Nationwide Series No. 6 and Travis Pastrana full-time in the No. 60 NNS.
RFR and the Daytona 500
This will be RFR’s 26th running of the Daytona 500, with the first coming on Feb. 14, 1988. All-in-all Roush Fenway has fielded 88 entries in the famed event, with 31 top 10s, 16 top fives and two victories in 2009 and 2011. The team has three runner-up finishes in the Daytona 500. Overall, 14 different drivers have raced in the Daytona 500 for Roush Fenway.
Daytona 500 Lineup Set
With Thursday’s qualifying duels in the books, the lineup is set for the 2013 Daytona 500. RFR’s Greg Biffle will start fifth after a second-place finish in the duels. Ricky Stenhouse will start 28th and Carl Edwards 36th. Trevor Bayne starts 33rd in the Wood Brothers No. 21. Bayne led a race-high 37 laps in the first duel, but was claimed in the same accident that ended Edwards’ day. Stenhouse finished 14th after taking a pit road speeding penalty. Both Edwards and Bayne were forced to backup cars for the 500 after the Duel-race accident.
Last Season in the Daytona 500
Last season Roush Fenway dominated the Daytona 500 earning its second victory in the famed event, while placing a pair of cars in the top five and three cars in the top 10 and leading 94 of 200 laps in the race.
Pastrana Takes on ‘CATCAM’ Daytona 500 Prerace Show
Travis Pastrana will make his official Daytona NASCAR debut in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, at the World Center of Racing, but the action sports legend got in a little track time early this week when he raced FOX’s CAMCAT, a unique suspended HD camera system that spans across the front stretch of the famed Daytona International Speedway for the race broadcast.
Debut of the Gen 6
This weekend will mark the official ‘full-race’ debut of the all-new Gen 6 body style in NASCAR. The car will more closely resemble its factory counterpart off the track. In addition to the body style changes, the cars will now carry the driver’s name on the windshield and sponsor marks on the roof.
2013 Roush Fenway Lineup
Veteran NASCAR champions Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards anchor the 2013 RFR lineup. The duo will be joined in the Sprint Cup Series for RFR by rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr.In the Nationwide Series, RFR will field two entries with Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne in the No. 6 and action sports legend Travis Pastrana in the No. 60. In addition, Bayne will again run a limited schedule in the Sprint Cup Series in the Wood Brothers’ NO. 21 Ford.
Ricky of the Year
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will compete for Roush Fenway’s 13th NASCAR rookie-of-the-year award in 2013. Stenhouse won the rookie of the year award in the Nationwide Series in 2011. Stenhouse would become the third RFR driver to win two rookie awards (Biffle and Edwards NNS and Truck) and only the second to win a NASCAR rookie award in the Sprint Cup Series.
Going for Three in a Row
The Roush Fenway No. 6 Cargill Ford will look for this third consecutive Nationwide Series Championship this season. Crew Chief Mike Kelley will once again call the shots for the team, with Trevor Bayne taking over behind the wheel.
