Ford Las Vegas NSCS Post Race

Ford Racing NSCS Notes & Quotes:
Kobalt Tools 400 NSCS Post Race (Las Vegas Motor Speedway)
Sunday, March 10, 2013

BRAD KESELOWSKI | No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion

“Never ever give up. Never give up. This team doesn’t and we didn’t today. You get a good run like we did and that is a product of that effort. I thought we had some really good speed there at the end. I almost want another yellow to race the 5 and the 20. Matt (Kenseth) did a great job executing the restarts really well. We were so close.”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR. | No. 17 Zest Ford Fusion

“We were too tight. I kept telling them to free it up and we would get tighter and tighter. That is what gave up all our track position. We were running in the top-10 no problem but then we were way too tight for some reason. Every pit stop we made we got tighter and tighter. I couldn’t go on a restart. I had lap cars passing me left and right and I couldn’t get out of the way quick enough. We will have to go check it out. The last 20 laps of the run I feel like we were one of the fastest cars so I don’t know if something is broke and kept getting worse and worse or what the deal was. We kept being way too tight but all in all there for awhile we had a great car and felt like we could run up in the top-five maybe at some point.”

CARL EDWARDS | No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion

“We wanted better but I think if I would have done a better job on my restarts then we would have been better. We were sliding all over the place out there. I am sure we wore out some steering boxes and that was a good race. That was as hard as we could drive. Congrats to Matt (Kenseth) and those guys. He drives his heart out. That one restart he got sideways and I hit him just hard enough that I thought maybe I could straighten him up and go. It worked good for him and terrible for me. That was a wild race and some hard driving right there.”

JOEY LOGANO | No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion

“We weren’t loose too bad. I was too loose the last run though. The guys did a good job though giving me what I needed to give me a really good race car today. I screwed up and sped down pit road on the first stop. I went down a lap and tried the wave around but never caught our break to go. I felt like we had a top-five car but just made a mistake. Too many mistakes on both sides right now. The car made it this time but I made a dumb mistake. I never really had an opportunity to recover good enough as we wanted to.”

ARIC ALMIROLA | No. 43 Farmland Ford Fusion

“We were really loose. We got our car too tight at one point too. We fought back and forth on the balance and that was the biggest thing we struggled with – trying to get the balance right. Everyone on the team did a great job. We probably had an 8th-12th place car so I am disappointed we finished 16th. We didn’t have any major mistakes and I think points-wise we are still decent. It was a solid day for us, you just always want better.”
