Budweiser Racing Team Notes of Interest
After scoring the win in last weekend’s race at Richmond International Raceway, Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS team travel to Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway this week for Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race.
Media Availability… Harvick will be available to members of the media at noon CT on Friday in the Talladega Superspeedway infield media center’s deadline room.
New BUD 360° App… Budweiser is giving consumers a whole new look at what it’s like to hit speeds of 190 mph in the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS with the interactive BUD 360° app. The King of Beers’ innovative new app utilizes surround video technology to provide users with a 360-degree look inside Kevin Harvick’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ride as the driver completes several laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway. While Harvick controls the wheel, the consumer controls the view, allowing them to experience the sensation of speed in never-before-seen angles. The app is available for free in the Apple App Store for both iPhone and iPad users. The Budweiser Racing 360° video also is accessible on desktop computers at www.budweiser.com.
Chassis Info… The No. 29 team will utilize chassis No. 334 from the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) stable this weekend. Harvick’s RCR teammate Austin Dillon raced this car to a 31st-place finish in February at the Daytona 500.
Statistically Speaking… Harvick has made 24 NSCS starts at Talladega Superspeedway and has earned one win, six top fives and 10 top 10s. He has completed 97.8 percent of the laps run in those 24 races (4,446 of 4,548), and holds an average starting position of 22.0 and an average finish of 15.4 at the 2.66-mile track.
Loop Data… Since the inception of NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistics in 2006, Harvick has competed in 16 NSCS races at Talladega Superspeedway and owns several impressive marks heading into this weekend’s event, including: third in fastest laps run (72); third in green flag passes (5,262); eighth in laps led (119); 10th in laps in the top 15 (1,387); and 10th in closers.
Sprint Q&A with Harvick… Talladega Superspeedway fans can watch Harvick participate in a Q&A session with Miss Sprint Cup at the Sprint Unlimited Experience on Sunday at 9:20 a.m.CT.
Harvick Discusses Racing at Talladega Superspeedway
What are your thoughts heading into the race at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend?
“I like restrictor-plate racing, but our luck hasn’t been that great lately on that style track. Last season, we thought we were going to have a chance to win coming to the checkers during the second races of the season at Daytona (International Speedway) and Talladega (Superspeedway), but we wound up coming in on a wrecker. We just haven’t gotten the finishes we thought we would at those tracks, even though we’ve had good runs. We’re coming off a win at Richmond (International Raceway), so I’m hoping we can carry that momentum into the race this weekend.”
