Stenhouse Jr. at Charlotte Motor Speedway
o Stenhouse Jr. got his first Sprint Cup start at Charlotte in 2011 in the famed No. 21 finishing an impressive 11th-place.
o The two-time Nationwide champion earned one of the two transfer spots in the Sprint Showdown to qualify for his first All-Star race last weekend. He finished 16th in the 90-lap showdown.
The Car
o Chassis RK-827 is the same chassis that the No.17 team ran in Texas cutting a left rear tire early in the race resulting in a 40th-place finish.
o The backup Chassis RK-791 was a chassis that the No. 99 ran numerous times in 2012.
Fastenal
o Fastenal is proud to honor military service men and women, both active and retired, with a three-car tribute at the Coca Cola 600, to be held on Memorial Day Weekend.
o Brian Ashbee (Chief Quartermaster, U.S. Navy) and Anthony Phillips (Private First Class, U.S. Army) will see their names on the hood of the No. 17 Ford.
o The displays are part of Fastenal’s “Heroes Hired Here” campaign honoring employees who are active or retired military members.
Stenhouse Jr. on the Coca-Cola 600:
“We made a lot of adjustments in the All-Star race that I think will give us some direction for this weekend. Qualifying for the All-Star gave me 90 more laps to learn which is very valuable. The Coca-Cola 600 is the longest race of our season so we will keep dialing in our Ford and hopefully can have our Fastenal Ford in contention for the win. Fastenal is paying tribute to the military service men and women on all three Roush Fenway Fords this weekend. It would be awesome to get them in victory lane.”
Scott Graves on the Coca-Cola 600:
“We learned a ton during the All-Star race which should be beneficial this weekend. The 600 is our longest race of the season so we will keep adjusting on our Fastenal Ford to adapt to changing track conditions. The race starts while the sun is out and ends at night so we will have to make sure we don’t adjust too much early on. Ricky has been really strong at 1.5-mile tracks this year so hopefully we can get our first top-10 of the season this weekend.”
