In the Spot Light: Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS, was honored by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. last week. The 26th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards took place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was a ceremony to celebrate Hispanic cultural pride, contributions and accomplishments. The awards were established in 1987 by President Ronald Regan to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month. Since its creation, the awards honor top Latino leaders in various categories for their impact on America and the world. Montoya received an award for sports and was joined by actress Eva Longoria, who received a community service award.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY

Richmond Recap: Richmond International Raceway (RIR) was the site for the 26th and final race for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) to determine the 12 drivers that will make up the field for the 10-race Chase to the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The No.1 Cessna team had a strong car throughout the weekend at the .75-mile D-shaped oval. Jamie McMurray qualified for the 400-lap race in seventh position and after racing near the front of the field all night, brought the Cessna Chevrolet SS home with a fourth-place finish.
McMurray at Chicagoland: McMurray has made 10 NSCS starts at Chicago, earning one top-five, two top-10 and three top-15 finishes. He has completed 2512 laps out of a possible 2673 or 94%, and has led 74 laps. McMurray’s average start is 21.7 and his average finish is 22.7. His best start was first in July 2010.
McMurray and Speedways: McMurray has completed 188 races on speedways (1-2 mile courses). In those 188 races, McMurray has completed 58,154 laps of competition and has earned two wins, 21 top-five, 49 top-10s, while leading 845 laps along the way.

Richmond Recap: The last race before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup took place at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) Saturday night. Juan Pablo Montoya started from the 12th position and overcame handling issues, a missing lugnut and two penalties to finish out the night in the 16th position.

Montoya at Chicagoland: Montoya has six NSCS starts at Chicagoland Speedway that includes a top-10 finish during the 2009 race. He has an average starting position of 20.8, an average finishing position of 16.0 and has completed 99.9% of the possible laps at the mile-and-a-half speedway.
