Annett Continues to Improve on Mile-And-A-Half Tracks
CONCORD, N.C. (October 29, 2013) -After a two week pause, the NASCAR Nationwide Series returns to action at Texas Motor Speedway this Saturday. It will be the sixth mile-and-a-half track on the schedule since August. In the previous five mile-and-a-half starts, Annett has earned two top-10 finishes and four top-15 finishes.
Annett will make his ninth start at the Ft. Worth track this weekend. His best finish at the track came in the spring of 2012 after finishing ninth, giving him his only top-10 at Texas. Annett will look to improve his average finish of 16.4.
The Pilot Travel Centers Ford will have a new look this weekend as Pringles® makes their debut on the side of the No. 43. For almost 50 years, Pringles® has been providing original snacking fun to consumers from young to old. As the fastest-growing potato crisp in both dollar sales and volume, this brand continues to drive sales in the salty snack category. The Pringles® brand is now part of the Kellogg’s portfolio.
Starting in October through December customers can purchase two large cans of Pringles® for $4.00 at any Pilot Flying J store. On Friday, November 1st, stop by the Pilot Travel Centers in Ft. Worth (Pilot Travel Center 2400 Alliance Gateway Ft. Worth, TX 76178) from 10:00-11:00 a.m. CT to meet Annett and check out the No. 43 Pilot Travel Centers Pringles Ford.
Comments from the No. 43 Pilot Travel Centers Pringles Ford Mustang driver Michael Annett:
“After two weeks off, I’m ready to get back to the track. It was a nice break and it was great to get re-energized, but we only have three races left this season and I’m ready to continue working towards that win in 2013. It’s also important for us to continue to build our notebook for 2014. Texas always leads to good racing with multiple grooves, so it should be fun.
“We have a great looking car this weekend with Pringles coming on board. It’s been really cool to have such great products on our car this year, and Pringles is another great partner to add to the list. Who doesn’t love Pringles?”
Comments from Crew Chief Philippe Lopez on Texas:
“We ran really well at Texas last year with Michael, and we were happy with the way the car ran. With the stuff that we’ve done lately with our mile-and-a-half program, we’re all looking forward to this race. I am especially excited since Texas is home for me. I think we can do really well at Texas.
“I feel better about our mile-and-a-half program than I did in the summer, but we still have room for improvement. When we go to the short-tracks, we can be one of the cars that contend for the win, but at Texas, we’ll have to do everything right. The biggest thing about Texas is that you can get really aggressive with the set-ups. Fuel mileage will play a part in it as well, which is to our advantage over the other manufacturers. There’s about 15 cars that really have a lot to lose and will be racing very carefully. It tends to lead to a lot of long green-flag runs.”
Chassis History:
Lopez and the No. 43 Pilot Travel Centers Pringles team have prepared chassis No. 703 for Texas. This chassis was previously run at both Dover and Bristol races as well as at Loudon earlier this year.
