RFR in PHX

Roush Fenway has started 227 combined NASCAR races at PIR, collecting 17 wins (7 NSCS, 8 NNS, 2 CWTS), 73 top fives, 121 top 10s and nine poles, while leading 3,983 laps.

Winning in the Valley

Roush Fenway has won at Phoenix in all three of NASCAR’s major divisions, with the organization’s first win coming in the fall of 1993. RFR won the second-ever Nationwide race at PIR in 2000, and the organization has won four of the last seven NNS events at PIR. In addition, Greg Biffle claimed RFR’s 100th overall Nationwide win at Phoenix in 2009 and Carl Edwards won there that fall to give RFR the sweep. All in all, six drivers have won NASCAR races for RFR at PIR. In addition, Carl Edwards swept Phoenix in the fall of 2010, winning both the NNS and NSCS events.

Sprint Cup Effort at PIR

Roush Fenway has started 127 Sprint Cup races at Phoenix, while finishing inside the top 10 with almost 50 percent of the entries (55). In addition, RFR cars have led 2,252 laps and driven to victory lane seven times.

Nationwide Effort at PIR

Phoenix is one of the strongest tracks for RFR’s Nationwide program. In 64 starts, RFR has won eight times, while finishing inside the top five almost half of the time (26) and inside the top 10 an impressive 71 percent of the time (45), while leading 1,397 laps. RFR has won four of the past nine NNS events at Phoenix.

Ricky of the Year

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. looks to put the finishing touches on RFR’s 13th NASCAR rookie-of-the-year award this weekend. Stenhouse won the rookie of the year award in the Nationwide Series in 2011. He is set to become the third RFR driver to win two rookie awards (Biffle and Edwards NNS and Truck) and only the second to win a NASCAR rookie award in the Sprint Cup Series.

Stenhouse Driven

Stenhouse will drive a special No. 17 RFR ‘Driven’ Ford in this week’s Sprint Cup race. The paint scheme celebrates RFR’s ‘Drive’ to be the best. The ‘Driven’ program has included new and increased fan interaction, as well as partner promotions and special events throughout the 2013 season.

Reed Runs Mosaic Car in Phoenix Debut

Ryan Reed’s No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang will showcase photos from the American Diabetes Association’s A Day in the Life of Diabetes mosaic at PIR as part of American Diabetes Month®.  Reed worked with the Association to encourage the public to submit a personal image to the Association’s Facebook mosaic representing what A Day in the Life of Diabetes means to them. This will be Reed’s NASCAR debut that PHX. Click here to watch Reed’s Mosaic Mustang being prepared, narrated by Reed.

Vote Bayne

RFR’s Trevor Bayne continues to roll in the fan vote that will decide the cover of this year’ NASCAR ‘14 video game. Bayne has already defeated five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and defending Sprint Cup Champion Brad Keselowski. He faces Kevin Harvick this week for the chance to advance to the ‘final four’.
