Mooresville, NC (February 20, 2014) – Tommy Baldwin Racing welcomes back Golden Corral as the primary sponsor of Reed Sorenson’s No. 36 Chevrolet for the Daytona 500.
Heading in to the first weekend of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Reed Soreson is looking forward to being back competing against the top drivers in the circuit. Qualifying 29th, Reed will compete in the first Duel on Thursday evening at Daytona International Speedway.
Also joining TBR and the No. 36 crew is championship winning Crew Chief Todd Parrott. Parrott has several notable wins under his belt, including two Daytona 500 wins. Together Sorenson and Parrott are looking to take the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet to a Top 10, so children will eat for free on Monday.
“I fully intend on getting my No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet into the Top 10 on Sunday,” commented Sorenson. “The guys have worked tirelessly to get this car ready, and give me the best equipment there is for the 500. I’m going to do everything I can to make sure we start this 2014 season off right, and that kids will eat free at Golden Corral on Monday.”
“It’s great to have Golden Corral back on board the No. 36 again with us this season,” said team owner Tommy Baldwin. “We have spent a lot of time in the offseason making sure we got these cars ready, I believe we can compete with the top teams out there this weekend.”
Remember to tune in to NASCAR on FOX at 12pm ET on Sunday, February 23rd for the 56th running of the Daytona 500. Cheer on the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet, and if Reed Sorenson finishes in the Top 10, kids eat free at Golden Corral restaurants across the country on Monday.
About Tommy Baldwin RacingNASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin formed Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in 2009. Baldwin utilized a declining economy to open a NSCS team with a stringent budget. The team worked to build to full-time competition, and by the 2011 season, the team’s third season, TBR competed in every race and locked the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-35 in NSCS Owner Points. Dave Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to TBR’s highest finish of third in the October 2011 event at Talladega Superspeedway. In 2012 both cars fielded by TBR finished in the top-35 in points.
