MacDonald Prevails In PITTLITE 125

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Saturday, March 15, 2014) — Chaos and carnage reigned inside the Last Great Colosseum in Saturday’s PittLite 125 as the K&N East Series warriors battled for Bristol victory.

In an event that saw six cautions and a green-white-checker finish, it was Massachusetts-native Eddie MacDonald who prevailed after contact between he and pole sitter Ben Rhodes relegated the day’s dominant car to a third place finish.

“This is really unbelievable,” said the seven-time series winner. “Each year we get a little bit better, but we want to come here and win. To be able to get that is just unbelievable.

“I feel awful for running into Ben Rhodes. I drove it in hard, the back end came around and I just ran into him but with a drought like we’ve had, we just really wanted this win.”

With five years passing between wins, MacDonald said breaking the drought at Bristol made it even sweeter.

“I’ve always wanted to win here, wanted to win somewhere in the south,” he said. “Bristol is just the best one you can get.”

Track action continues Sunday at Bristol in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Food City 500. Tickets still remain for the event and may be purchased by calling (855) 580-5525 or visiting www.bristoltix.com.
