Huntersville, NC (March 24, 2014) – Ryan Partridge successfully completed the Irwindale double over the weekend, competing in both the NASCAR K&N West series race as well as the Progressive Paint Super Truck series.
Starting Saturday night’s schedule of racing, Partridge qualified the No. 48 Super Truck in the fourth position and with the invert, started on the pole. “Our main focus for the weekend was the K&N west car but we also raced our truck. I’ll take luck over speed any day,” Partridge said of his pole position start. The luck continued for Partridge and his team, the race was green from flag-to-flag and he led every lap of the race. Partridge went on to celebrate in Victory Lane.
Heading over to the K&N West car, Partridge will be the first to admit it was a struggle all weekend. “We threw everything but the kitchen sink at it, then made three spring changes out of desperation.” With little improvement, the No. 77 team would start the NAPA Auto Parts 150 from the 13th position.
Starting the race, Partridge dove to the inside and was held down there by the dominate outside line. On the bottom, he was able to gain positions and settled into second where he would stay for much of the race.
The final restart proved a challenge for Partridge. Beat into Turn one by a much stronger car, another driver battling for second-place dove underneath. Carrying too much momentum, they slid up the racetrack, pushing the No. 77 Toyota into the wall out of Turn four. With a few laps left, dealing with a damaged race car and an evident tire rub, Patridge held on to grab a top ten finish. Finishing in the eighth position, Partridge summed his weekend up saying, “It was a great weekend here at Irwindale, we showed our strength at a track I truly love. I cannot thank my sponsors enough, Lucas Oil and LoanMart have been behind me and entirely supportive of my journey.”
