Gilliland Likes His Team’s Chances at Richmond

New Rule Package, Phoenix Data Can Help Long John Silver’s Team

STATESVILLE, APRIL 22, 2014 – David Gilliland, driver of the No. 38 Long John Silver’s Ford, comments on racing at Richmond International Raceway:

“I like our chances at Richmond with the new rule package this year. I think the cars drive a lot better and help us to be more competitive as a team. We’re looking forward to going there. We felt like we had a strong racecar in Phoenix, and usually a lot of stuff transfers over from Phoenix to Richmond. Hopefully we can improve on it and have a great race.

“Richmond is a unique racetrack. It’s different from anything else we go to, but always fun. It drives like a big short track, which makes for a long night of racing but always something we look forward to.”

JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has 15 Sprint Cup career starts at Richmond International Raceway … His top finish at the .75-mile oval is 18th (2008).

. @DavidGilliland will be at the @FordRacing display at @RIRInsider Saturday at 4:10 p.m. #NASCAR
