PERDUE FOODS RACING WITH EARNHARDT

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Perdue Foods will be riding along with Jeffrey Earnhardt when he challenges Richmond International Raceway in Friday’s ToyotaCare 250 Nationwide Series race.

JD Motorsports with Gary Keller announced the Perdue sponsorship Tuesday. The partnership renews a very special relationship for Perdue, which once worked with and sponsored Dale Earnhardt Sr., Jeffrey’s grandfather and one of NASCAR’s all-time greatest drivers.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the folks at Perdue,” said team owner Johnny Davis. “Jeffrey’s first season is going well, and this will give us an extra boost as we get ready for Richmond. We’re all looking forward to having Perdue along for the ride.”

Earnhardt is in his first full season in the Nationwide Series. He has scored two straight top-20 runs in the No. 4 JD Motorsports Chevrolet, and with a boost from Perdue, is looking for bigger things at Richmond this week.

“We’re excited to be riding with Jeffrey Earnhardt, JD Motorsports and Gary Keller at Richmond,” said Perdue Chairman Jim Perdue. “Jeffrey’s having an exciting first full season in the Nationwide Series. It’s also a special honor to be once again associated with the Earnhardt family. We were an associate sponsor on the number 3 car with Dale Earnhardt, and he was also one of our chicken growers. For the Perdue family and our company, it means something special to see a tradition carried on through the generations.”

“We want to thank Johnny Davis and Gary Keller for this opportunity to make this special appearance in NASCAR’s Nationwide series, and for the opportunity to showcase Perdue on the number 4 car,” said Gail McWilliam, Vice President of Marketing, Perdue brand. “All of us associated with Perdue are thrilled to be riding with Jeffrey and the JD Motorsports team Friday night.”

A fan of short tracks, Earnhardt is ready to roll at RIR.

“Richmond is one of my favorite tracks, and it’s going to be great to have Perdue on board this week,” Earnhardt said. “I’m looking forward to giving them an impressive run there. Having a strong sponsor is a key to doing well in this sport, and Perdue fills the bill for us.”
