Jeff Lapcevich Focused On Return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

GRIMSBY, ON- One year removed from an emotional runner-up finish in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series opener, Jeff Lapcevich has re-tooled and re-focused with hopes of earning his first career series win in the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200.

“Last year at this time we were building three new cars and facing a lot of other obstacles after the death of my father”, says Lapcevich. “The runner-up finish was incredible, and it’s amazing we ran as well as we did. Now, we’re a little more grounded and able to focus on making our equipment faster. We’ve already seen the results”

The Fastline Motorsports team recently took part in the NCATS open test session at CTMP, and were incredibly pleased with their results.

“We turned our fastest laps ever at CTMP during our test session”, beams Lapcevich. “If that’s any indication, I feel as though we’ll be solidly in the mix this Sunday. We had the car to win last year, but couldn’t find a way past [L.P.] Dumoulin late in the going”

The Grimsby, ON veteran is quick to credit the work of his team over the off-season, in addition to the support of longtime supporter Tim Hortons, for making the 2014 season a reality.

“I can’t say enough about my team”, says Lapcevich. “These guys have been in the shop all winter working. We’re anxious to get back to the track and I’d love nothing more than to reward them with a win”

“This is our 25th year enjoying backing from Tim Hortons”, continues Lapcevich. “We’re hoping to help raise awareness for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation and their commitment to send kids to camp this summer. Their unwavering support over the years has been incredible, I can’t thank them enough”

The Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 is scheduled for May 18th at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Gate times and ticket prices can be found at www.CanadianTireMotorsportPark.com

Jeff Lapcevich and the Fastline Motorsports team will carry marketing support from Tim Hortons, Castrol, Cathcart Trucking, Troy Cove Marine, EpicRacewear by OnePromo.ca and Springer’s Meats throughout the 2014 season.

Fans can keep up with Jeff on Twitter @LapcevichRacing all season long.
