(Toledo, OH – May 19, 2014) Grant Enfinger had the potential to take home another ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory until bad luck ended his weekend in 12th.
“We had the strongest car I’ve ever had at Toledo,” says Enfinger. “There wasn’t much we needed to change throughout practice and we qualified great. Luck just wasn’t on our side during the race today.”
Enfinger was third in Saturday’s first practice session at Toledo Speedway with Team BCR. He then finished up 11th in the final practice session. The team made the changes needed for qualifying, which landed the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite – Triple K Construction Ford in the second position for Sunday’s Menards 200.
Once the green flag flew, Enfinger maintained his second place position. Up until a caution on lap 51, where Crew Chief, Kelly Kovski called the No. 90 Ford Fusion in for a change of four tires and fuel. Grant took the green flag in the 4th position, but easily made his was back up into 2nd. It wasn’t until lap 124, after another pit stop, that Enfinger would take the lead for the next 67 laps.
The No. 90 started slipping back on lap 174, where Enfinger was passed by race winner, Justin Boston and then again by Mason Mitchell on lap 185. The right front tire then cut down on lap 194, with just six laps to go, leaving Grant to finish in 12th.
“I can’t thank everyone enough,” says Current Points Leader, Grant Enfinger. “CEO of Casite, John Antakli came out to the track for the first time in our partnership together. It’s great to have that support system there at the track. Howard Bixman and the crew built a winning car, it just wasn’t our day.”
Team BCR and Enfinger will go into the next race on schedule at New Jersey Motorsports Park with a 25-point advantage over Mason Mitchell.
Team Manager, Howard Bixman said, “Grant and the entire team did an excellent job all weekend. We had a great car and the potential to gain another win. I’d like to thank Casite’s CEO, John Antakli, for coming out to the track along with Triple K Construction’s Kevin Kirchharr and the rest of our partners for their continued support this season: Stanley Industries, Detroit FLEX Defense, Warriors in the Workplace and Wurth USA.”
