Invites Fans to Choose Paint Scheme Featuring the Foundation for November Phoenix Race
Charlotte, NC – May 23, 2014 – Farmland is teaming up with the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides support to families of fallen or disabled armed forces members, to pay tribute to military heroes. Under this partnership, Farmland will salute the Foundation by including its logo on the No. 43 Farmland Ford during the Kansas and Texas races; donating $5,000 to the Foundation’s scholarship program each time the No. 43 Ford leads a race lap, or has a top-10 finish in the Sprint Cup series; and featuring Folds of Honor as part of the No. 43 paint scheme that will be chosen by fan votes for the November Veterans Day Weekend race in Phoenix.
Representatives from Farmland and Folds of Honor alongside Almirola will unveil two paint scheme options – on which fans will be able to vote – during a press conference at the Charlotte Motor Speedway media center on Sunday, May 25th, at 1:30 PM. In addition to the announcement, two beneficiaries of Folds of Honor will share their stories of how the Foundation has provided vital assistance to their families during significant times of need.
Following the press conference, race fans and Foundation supporters can go to www.Facebook.com/FarmlandFoods from May 25th through September 1st to vote for their preferred paint scheme and track which option is leading the vote.
In addition to voting, racing fans are encouraged to help “Take The Lead” by posting a salute on Farmland’s Facebook wall in support of Folds of Honor and Almirola.
“Farmland is proud to partner with the Folds of Honor Foundation, and support their mission of providing assistance to military families in the fight to preserve American freedom,” said Dennis Pittman, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Smithfield Farmland. “Farmland has a long history of supporting our country’s armed forces. Many race fans are active and retired military, so we’re excited to recognize Folds of Honor in conjunction with our No. 43 racing program.”
