Concrete Mile…Justin Allgaier will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Dover International Speedway (DIS) this weekend in the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks. Allgaier has 10 starts at DIS in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). He’s led 16 laps at the 1.0-mile concrete oval, and has one top five and four top-10 finishes. Crew chief Steve Addington has three wins at DIS, earning the victories with Kyle Busch (2008), Kurt Busch (2011) and Tony Stewart (2012).

Drive for Autism…On Thursday, May 29, Allgaier will participate in the Drive for Autism Charity Golf Tournament at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del. The annual golf tournament is held to raise awareness and funds to serve people affected by autism and their families throughout Delaware.

Autism Speaks…This weekend at DIS, the No. 51 AccuDoc Solutions Chevrolet SS will sport the Autism Speak puzzle piece in support of Sunday’s FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Charlotte Recap…Allgaier made his first NSCS start at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday. Allgaier earned the best starting position of his NSCS career in the No. 51 HendrickCars.com Chevy, 17th. Unfortunately, a part failure during the Coca-Cola 600 sent the No. 51 HendrickCars.com behind the wall for repairs. After returning to the 1.5-mile track, Allgaier was 23 laps down and finished the night in the 37th-place for HScott Motorsports.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year…After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 AccuDoc Solutions Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Talladega, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.

Justin Allgaier on Dover International Speedway:

“I’m looking forward to Dover [International Speedway]. It’s a concrete track, and I always enjoy racing on concrete. There’s not a lot of grip, and it’s really easy to mess up a lap there and get freight trained by the other cars. We’ve been making gains each week but just don’t have the results to show for it. I’m really hoping we can shake some of the bad luck we’ve had the past couple weeks.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Dover International Speedway:

“Dover [International Speedway] is a short track, and those types of tracks seem to really suit Justin’s driving style. We’ve been making strides each week at HScott Motorsports, and even if we don’t have the results to show it. We’ve been improving in qualifying and practice each week, so hopefully we can turn our string of bad luck around this weekend.”
