SUSPENSION KOs EARNHARDT

NEWTON, Iowa – Suspension issues sidelined JD Motorsports with Gary Keller driver Jeffrey Earnhardt in Saturday night’s U.S. Cellular 250 Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway.

Earnhardt parked his Chevrolet 200 laps into the race and finished 31st.

“Not the kind of night we wanted,” Earnhardt said. “This is the kind of track I like, and we had hoped to get better numbers here, but it’s hard to fight the mechanical issues.”

Despite the tough night, Earnhardt stayed in 18th in Nationwide driver points.

Brad Keselowski led 146 of 250 laps and won the race. Chase Elliott leads the Nationwide points.

The series now looks at two consecutive road-course races, the first Aug. 9 at Watkins Glen International in New York.
