RAB Racing NNS Event Preview: Watkins Glen International

Hitting The Road…James Buescher will make his second start at the 11-turn, 2.45-mile Watkins Glen International (WGI) road course on Saturday afternoon. Buescher’s first and only start at WGI came back during the 2011 season when he started in the 10th position and went on to finish in 17th. In the only road course race of the 2014 season, Buescher brought the No. 99 Rheem Toyota Camry home just outside the top-15 in the 17th-place.

Let’s Go Places…Toyota Care will serve as primary sponsor on the RAB Racing No. 99 Toyota Camry this weekend at Watkins Glen Internatonal for the Zippo 200. This is the third week this season that Toyota Care is being featured as the primary sponsor on the RAB Racing No. 99 Toyota Camry. The Toyota Care service program provides 24-hour roadside assistance that gives every new Toyota owner with ‘peace of mind.’

Iowa Recap…James Buescher and the No. 99 Ruud Toyota Camry team went into the race at Iowa Speedway with high hopes. After finishing final practice in the sixth position, Buescher went on to qualify in the 18th-place for Saturday evening’s race. After working his way up to just outside the top-10, with just seven laps remaining Buescher got caught up in a accident that derailed his progress in capturing another top-10 finish. Buescher and the No. 99 Ruud team went on to finish the U.S. Cellular 250 in 26th-place with a beat and battered Camry.

Chassis Info…RAB Racing will bring chassis No. 055 with them to Watkins Glen International for this weekend’s Zippo 200. This chassis was last raced by Buescher and RAB Racing at Road America back in June.

Get Your Sharpies Ready…James Buescher and many of his NASCAR Nationwide Series competitors will be signing autographs for the fans from 4:30pm -5:30pm on Friday afternoon located at The Bog Hospitality located inside of Turn 11. Autograph seekers must have a wristband to attend. Fans can pick up wristbands at the WGI Fan 101 tent, Cheez-It or Zippo displays in the Fan Midway while supplies last.

Catch the Action…The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to the Finger Lakes region of New York State for the second road-course race of 2014. The Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International can be seen on Saturday, August 9 at 2:00pm ET. The event can also be heard on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90 and on MRN Radio.
