New Talladega Superspeedway Themed ‘Talladega Grille’ at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport to Be Unveiled Thursday

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The new Talladega Grille, themed after NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track – Talladega Superspeedway – will be unveiled Thursday at 3:30 p.m. as part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated wing at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.

Much like the fans’ anticipation of seeing 3500-pound stock cars on the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway battling three- and four-wide at 200 mph, so, too, will be the travelers’ eagerness to taste the delicacies of the Talladega Grill, which officially opens August 14.

“We are thrilled about the opening of the Talladega Grille at the newly renovated wing of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport,” said Grant Lynch, Chairman of Talladega Superspeedway. “Many of our race fans fly into Birmingham before they make the short trip to NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track, and we are excited about having our brand greet them upon their arrival.

“The city of Birmingham has always been one of our greatest partners and it will be a pleasure serving the masses who utilize the airport transportation. While fans are here at Talladega Superspeedway during race weekend, we always remind them of the many things to do and places to see while in Birmingham. With the new Talladega Grille, we are glad to join other businesses as a part of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport.”

The new wing of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport is part of the Terminal Modernization Project and will feature other retail outlets.

Talladega Grille, operated by global restaurateur HMSHost, showcases Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR memorabilia and historical photography throughout and will have delicious breakfast and lunch/dinner menu items. Offered up are mouth-watering appetizers, soups and salads, along with signature Talladega items such as flavorful BBQ brisket, grilled chicken and flatbreads, to name a few. In addition, Talladega Grille will have many beverage options to choose from.

NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track (record 88 lead changes in 188 laps), with the circuit’s steepest banking (33 degrees) and longest distance (2.66 miles), is also the most fun and fan-friendly, offering up hundreds of acres of free camping, amazing kids ticket prices and special offers for military members and college students. Talladega Superspeedway is NASCAR’s “Party Capital” thanks to the track’s infamous infield and world renowned Talladega Blvd. The historic venue has always worked hard to enhance the fan experience in every way and now features the most comfortable seats in motorsports, large video viewing boards (a new initiative planned for future implementation at all ISC tracks) lining the frontstretch and endless activities for fans throughout its event weekends.
