Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
ROUND TWO AT MID-OHIO: Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team travel to Lexington, Ohio this weekend to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event on the 2.4 mile,15-turn road course at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This will be the second year the track has hosted a Nationwide Series event. Sadler started 14th and finished sixth in the inaugural event in 2013.
JUST THE STATS: After 21 races in the 2014 season, Sadler is currently in third place in the Nationwide Series driver championship point standings, 13 points back from the lead. The Emporia, Va., native has one win, one pole award, five top-five and 15 top-10 finishes.
SPECIAL GUEST: This weekend, Sadler and the OneMain Financial team will have a special guest at the track. Through help with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Sean Tibbs will be an honorary member of the No. 11 team on Saturday afternoon. Sean was brought to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital ER with tiredness and a weird feeling in his arms in July 2011. After the standard battery of tests and blood work, Sean’s family learned that he had leukemia. Sean spent 12 days in the hospital for treatment and over the course of the next year he went through chemo, bone marrow biopsies, and spinal taps. Sean began the maintenance phase of his treatment in late August of 2012. Although the start of this phase was rough for Sean, with medications that made him tired and impacted his liver functions, things eventually began to go as planned and Sean took an exciting Make-A-Wish trip to Disney in November. On January 22nd, Sean was scheduled for a routine spinal tap and chemo. During the blood work, Sean’s doctors saw that his counts were not right and ordered a bone marrow biopsy to determine what was going on. When the results came back, Sean’s family found out that his leukemia had returned. Sean had 15 weeks of intense treatment followed by a bone marrow transplant. Currently, Sean who is 10 years old, is off treatment and returns to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for follow-up appointments regarding the bone marrow transplant. Sean will be on-site this weekend at Mid-Ohio and will spend time on Saturday with Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team.

RACE INFO: The Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will be on ESPN at 2:45 p.m. ET, on Saturday, Aug 16th, as well as MRN and SIRIUSXM 90.

THINK PINK: The OneMain Financial driver will sport pink Oakley driving shoes throughout the entire Nationwide Series season to show support for breast cancer awareness and honor his mom, Bell. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and is now a survivor.
