EARNHARDT 28th AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio – Jeffrey Earnhardt completed his run through the three Nationwide Series road courses with a 28th-place finish in Saturday’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Earnhardt started 27th but spun off the course in turn four early in the race and dropped to 38th place. He made up 10 positions over the rest of the race.

“Not where we wanted to finish,” Earnhardt said. “The car was good, but I put us in a hole early on. We did come back to run some good laps.”
Earnhardt, driving the Bandit Industries Chevrolet, remained in 18th place in Nationwide Series points.

Chris Buescher, a series rookie, won the race for his first Nationwide victory. Chase Elliott kept the point lead.

The series’ next race is Aug. 22 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
