ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Richmond

·         Trevor Bayne makes his eighth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway on Friday night. In seven previous starts at the .750-mile oval, Bayne has recorded two top-five finishes and three top-10s, with a best finish of third in this event in 2010.

·         In 29 career starts on short tracks in the NNS, Bayne has recorded one win, six top-five finishes, 14 top-10 finishes and has led 255 laps.

·         According to NASCAR’s loop data statistics, Bayne ranks fourth in quality passes with an average of 25.3 passes per race and eighth in average running positon (10.1). The driver of the No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang also ranks ninth in driver rating (96.1) and in laps run inside the top 15 (1,467).

The Car

·         Crew chief Chad Norris brings chassis RK-826 to Richmond International Raceway this weekend. This chassis raced earlier this season at Phoenix International Raceway and at both events at Iowa Speedway, earning finishes of seventh, ninth and third, respectively.

Recapping Atlanta

·         Bayne took the green flag Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway from the seventh position and battled a loose race car for much of the 195-Lap event, ultimately scoring a 12th-place finish. With the result, Bayne remains sixth in the NNS championship standings and trails leader Chase Elliott by 71 points.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Richmond:

“Richmond is an awesome track to race on. It’s always action-packed. I’m excited to get there this weekend. It’s a similar track to Iowa, where we finished third last month. So I’m hopeful that we’ll have that same kind of speed in Richmond this weekend with the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang and that we’ll be celebrating in Victory Lane come night’s end Friday.”

Crew Chief Chad Norris on Richmond:
“Racing at Richmond is always exciting. It’s one of the more intense short tracks we go to. All of us on the No. 6 AdvoCare team are ready to get there this weekend and see what we can do. I’m confident that Trevor will drive a great race for us Friday night and that we will be in contention for the win by the time the checkered flag waves.”
