Members of the Son Tay Raiders, who in 1970 raided Son Tay prison camp where American soldiers were being held, will be recognized during pre-race ceremonies. For their actions during the raid, the members of the task force were awarded six Distinguished Service Crosses, five Air Force Crosses, and eighty-three Silver Stars.

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command Parachute Demonstration Team – the Black Daggers – are scheduled to parachute into Kansas Speedway as part of the Son Tay Raiders recognition during pre-race.

The Son Tay Raiders, the Black Daggers and the Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 5312 will all be on stage for the National Anthem.

The KC Flight Formation Team will perform the flyover for the Hollywood Casino 400. The flyover will have pink smoke to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pre-race concert by Joe Nichols on the tri-oval pre-race stage at 11:15 AM.

 

In Sprint Fan Walk, Katy Guillen and the Girls will perform at 10:30 AM.

 

KCSP 610 AM will be broadcasting live from Sprint Fan Walk from 10 AM – Noon.

Parking

As a reminder, Kansas Speedway offers free parking for all guests in our general parking lots. Please follow signs, parking attendants and local law enforcement directions to enter the parking lots as quickly as possible. Please remember by not following these directions or flow of traffic, that it will impede your time entering and exiting Kansas Speedway’s parking lots.

 

Overnight parking is not allowed.

 

Tickets

Tickets are available for all three races by calling 866-460-RACE (7223), online at www.kansasspeedway.com, at the Kansas Speedway Ticket Office (400 Speedway Blvd., Kansas City, KS) from 9 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday or on the day of the race at the ticket booth at Gate B. Tickets for Sprint FanWalk on October 3 – 4 are available, along with weekend tickets to Kansas Speedway’s Fan Hospitality area (the Finish Line).

 

Kansas Speedway’s Ticket Office will be open on Saturday, September 27 from 10 AM – 3 PM.

 

Ticket office hours for race week are as follows:

 

September 29 – October 2 – Kansas Speedway Administrative Ticket Office, 9 AM – 5 PM.

 

Friday, October 3, Gate B Ticket Booth, 8 AM until one hour after the start of the ARCA race.

 

Saturday, October 4, Gate B Ticket Booth, 8 AM until one hour after the start of the Kansas Lottery 300.

 

Sunday, October 5, Gate B Ticket Booth, 8 AM until one hour after the start of the Hollywood Casino 400.

 

Please remember that tickets cannot be resold on Kansas Speedway property.

 

Watching on TV

Races, practices and qualifying from Kansas Speedway can be seen on ESPN, FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports 2 October 3-5. Check local listings for times.

 

Radio Coverage

Fans can tune into MRN affiliates throughout the country to hear coverage of Kansas Speedway’s races. In Kansas City, the MRN affiliate is 102.5 FM. Fans can also listen to MRN’s coverage on Sirius Satellite Radio’s NASCAR channel.

Driving to the Races

Kansas Speedway is conveniently located off of I-435 and I-70. Fans traveling on I-70 can exit at the 110th Street/Speedway Blvd. exit or exit onto I-435 North and exit onto State Ave. West. Fans traveling on I-435 should exit at State Ave. West. Follow the signs to the parking lots.

 

Please remember that due to the large volume of traffic, there will be delays entering and exiting the facility.

 

Please also remember that pedestrians may not cross State Ave. to enter or leave Kansas Speedway.

 

Merchandise Available

Race fans can purchase driver specific merchandise at the merchandise trailers located near Gate B. Race and track specific merchandise, including race programs can be purchased at stands located throughout Kansas Speedway.

 

Display Midway

Kansas Speedway’s display midway is located north of Gate B. Several corporate displays will be on hand, including displays from the following.

 

3M, 5-HR Energy, AAA Missouri, Aaron’s, ACORE, America Diabetes Association, BlueGreen, Coca-Cola, Crown Royal, Factory Motor Parts, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Goodyear, Growth Energy, Kansas Army National Guard, Kansas Lottery, Kansas Speedway Racing 101, NASCAR Foundation, New Holland, Olathe Ford RV Center, Sprint, Toyota, U.S. Air Force, and Racing 101.

The Display Midway is open on Friday, October 3rd, from 10 AM – 5 PM, Saturday, October 4th, 8 AM – 1 PM and on Sunday, October 5th, from 8 AM – 1 PM.

 

New Menu Items

Americrown, Kansas Speedway’s official concession provider, is offering new menu items in 2014. Following is a list of some of the new items at Kansas Speedway this year.

 

·         Tachos (Sec. 161): Tater tots covered with chili and cheese.

·         Crab Cake Sliders (Sec. 116): Two Crab Cake patties with shredded lettuce and tartar sauce on Ciabatta slider buns.

·         50/50 Bacon Infused Cheddar Burger (Sec. 131, 149): Ground beef mixed with ground bacon to form a 50/50 patty topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion.

·         Buffalo Dog (Sec. 135): A hot dog rolled in buffalo sauce topped with bleu cheese crumbles and diced celery.

·         Cheeseburger Dog (Sec. 135): Cheeseburger in the shape of a hot dog on a seeded hot dog bun topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles.

·         KC Que Dog (Sec. 161): Hot dog topped with pulled pork, fried onion straws and BBQ sauce.

·         Smoked Cheddar Jalapeno Sausages (sec. 129, 146).

·         Louisiana Red Hot Sausages (Sec. 129).

 

Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway

The Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is open 24 hours a day throughout Kansas Speedway’s race weekend. In addition to gaming, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway offers several dining options (Final Cut Steakhouse, The Epic Buffett, Turn 2 Sports Bar and Restaurant, Hollywood and Grind, and the Marquee Café).

Race Notes

·         The ARCA Racing Series will crown their champion on Friday night. Last year, Frank Kimmel won the race and his 10th ARCA championship on the same night.

·         Kansas Speedway will host the first race in the Contender round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Oct. 5.

·         In NASCAR Sprint Cup Series action, a visit to Kansas Speedway’s Victory Lane in the series has remained elusive for local drivers Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray.

·         Of the current 16 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers, eight of them have won at Kansas Speedway with 13 Sprint Cup Series wins among them.

·         Chase Elliott, the 18-year-old son of NASCAR Champion Bill Elliott has three NASCAR Nationwide Series wins this season and leads the point standings by 20 over teammate Regan Smith with six races remaining on the series schedule.

 

KANSAS SPEEDWAY – POLICY REMINDERS

 

Bag Inspection Policy

·         ALL bags are subject to search prior to entering Kansas Speedway gates.

·         Each guest is permitted to bring in one (1) soft-sided cooler or bag up to 14x14x14-inches and one (1) school size backpack. The cooler may have telescoping handles and/or wheels. Please remember that coolers and bags must not block walkways or aisles or obstruct other guests.

·         Food and beverage of your choice is permitted; however glass containers are not.

·         Strollers are permitted through the gates as long as there is a child to accompany the stroller. Strollers cannot inhibit guest movement or block any aisles. Strollers must be left on the concourse underneath the grandstands and may be secured by the guest to the chain link fence. Strollers ARE NOT permitted in the grandstands. Kansas Speedway is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

·         Guests may also bring in stadium seat cushions without metal tubing, binoculars, blankets, camelbaks, scanners and personal cameras. Please do not obstruct other guest’s views while taking photos.

·         Umbrellas, glass, stadium seats with metal hooks and/or tubing, pets (service animals are approved), folding chairs, firearms, fireworks and weapons of any kind, thermoses, hard sided coolers, non-clear insulated cups, bicycles and skateboards, and flag poles are not permitted. This list is not an all-inclusive list and all items are subject to inspection and denial upon arrival.

·         Please minimize items you bring into Kansas Speedway to speed up the inspection process.

·         Expect lines upon entry and allow yourself plenty of time to go through the inspection process.

 

No Smoking Policy

·         There is no smoking in Kansas Speedway’s grandstands; this includes cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes.

·         Kansas Speedway offers designated areas under the grandstands for smoking.

·         Guests who do not adhere to Kansas Speedway’s No Smoking policy in the grandstands are subject to removal from the facility.
