Carlos Contreras; Rick Ware Racing To Reach 99th NASCAR Start At Charlotte

CONCORD, North Carolina (October 7, 2014) – – Carlos Contreras, the first Hispanic-born NASCAR driver continues his bid towards 100 career National Series starts this Friday night at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway (CMS) in the running of the Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Contreras will return to the helm of the No. 23 Retro Infinity Inc. Chevrolet Camaro, since overcoming kidney stones last month at Kentucky Speedway, where the former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver was scheduled to make his 99th National Series start.

Fully recovered from the setback, Contreras will make his second career Nationwide Series start at the 1.5-mile oval. The 44-year old driver competed at CMS in the spring, finishing 33rd, the same place he started driving for Rick Ware Racing (RWR).

Friday night’s event will mark the first time this season Contreras, a native of Mexico City, Mexico will hoist the Retro Infinity colors.

Retro Infinity Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of WRIT Media Group, Inc. (OTCQB: WRIT) and publisher of classic video games on today’s mobile devices, including the Amiga Games brand will back the team for the 29th NASCAR Nationwide Series race of the season.

“I’m looking forward to my debut with Retro Infinity and getting the opportunity to go back to Charlotte this weekend,” said Contreras who will make his 12th Nationwide start this season. “It’s unfortunate that I wasn’t able to compete at Kentucky, but I’m feeling great and I’m focused on getting our No. 23 Retro Infinity Inc. Chevrolet a good finish.

“Charlotte is a unique, but a fast track. We made strides start to finish in May, but everyone always searches for improvement. We need to be able to get our No. 23 Retro Infinity Chevrolet handling well over the bumps and carry the speed off the corner to get the momentum on the straightaways. We’re hoping for a top-20 finish on Friday night. Hopefully, we’ll be able to accomplish that.”

Team owner Rick Ware is excited to have Contreras back behind the wheel for the ninth time this season.

“We learned a lot at Charlotte back in May,” said Ware. “We’ve worked hard as a team to make sure we’re putting the best equipment on the track possible and Carlos has worked equally hard to do his job behind the wheel. We’re proud to be carrying Retro Infinity again this weekend and hope we’re able to mount a solid run in our backyard.”

Following Charlotte, Contreras is schedule to pilot a Rick Ware Racing car at Texas Motor Speedway and the 2014 season-finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway in November.

The Drive for the Cure 300 presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is set for Friday, October 10, 2014. The 200-lap contest is scheduled to air live on ESPN2, the Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The green flag is scheduled to fly at 7:46 p.m.
