Michael Annett Pre-Race Notes & Quotes: Phoenix

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 1, 2014) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett and his No. 7 Accell Construction Chevrolet SS team will compete this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, aiming to turn two consecutive top-25 finishes into three in a row.

Annett and his Tommy Baldwin Racing team are heading to Phoenix fresh off of a 24th-place finish two weeks ago at Martinsville Speedway and a 22nd-place finish last week in Texas.

Annett finished his lone Cup Series race at Phoenix earlier this season despite a throttle return spring coming loose in the racecar late in the event. He averaged a finish of 10.25 in four NASCAR Nationwide Series races on Phoenix’s current configuration.

The race airs live Sunday, Nov. 9 at 3:15 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

MICHAEL ANNETT QUOTE:

“We had finally gotten the car to where it was running comfortably before a spring came loose in the last race at Phoenix. It seems like such a long time ago since we were there. I was still trying to get used to the Cup Series car. Now, I think we have a good feel for one another and looking back, if we knew then what we know now, we would’ve had a better weekend. We’ve had some good runs the last few weeks, including last weekend at Texas. I’m looking forward to keeping that going.”
