Honda Indy Toronto tickets on sale today for renewals, February 19 for general public

TORONTO, ON, January 27, 2015Tickets to the 2015 Honda Indy Toronto go on sale today for anyone who purchased a two-day reserved grandstand ticket last year. The general public will have the opportunity to purchase tickets starting February 19 at HondaIndy.com. To accommodate the Pan Am Games, which will be held at venues throughout Toronto in July, Honda Indy Toronto will take place one month early this year, from June 12-14.

Race fans that attended the 2014 edition of Honda Indy Toronto have the opportunity to take advantage of Renewal Club Member Benefits including free Verizon IndyCar Series Paddock Passes and chances to win great prizes.

The event, now in its 29th year, promises a diverse motorsports line-up with something for every kind of race fan. The Verizon IndyCar Series will headline the weekend featuring world-class drivers like Canadian James Hinchcliffe, 2014 race winner Sebastien Bourdais and series champion Will Power.

“Racing is one of the few iconic sport disciplines that exhilarates the mind and stimulates all of the senses,” said Charlie Johnstone, President of the Honda Indy Toronto. “When you combine the off-track activities with the on-track racing, you’ve got a totally unique event that is memorable and exciting for everyone.”

After a popular debut in 2014, exotic car racing will return to the streets of Toronto with the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin. The series features semi-professional drivers racing in one of the largest single-make series in North America. The high-powered off-road vehicles of Robby Gordon’s SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks will also return for a third consecutive year to race side-by-side on the challenging street course.

“Hearing the reaction of our fans to the high-flying jumps of this series is one of my favourite moments of race weekend,” said Johnstone. “It’s thousands of people offering a collective ‘gasp’ at the same time. Spectacular is an understatement.”

Honda Indy Toronto will continue to celebrate young drivers getting their start in racing by featuring the entire Mazda Road to Indy ladder series, which includes Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda and Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires.
