SS Green Light Racing Taps Korbin Forrister for 15 NCWTS Races

MOORESVILLE, NC – February 11, 2015 SS Green Light Racing is pleased to announce that Korbin Forrister has signed to drive the No. 08 Chevrolet Silverado for a minimum of fifteen races in the 2015 Camping World Truck Series Schedule starting with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona on February 20th. The schedule will be expanded if additional funding is secured.

“We are going to run at least fifteen races, beginning with Daytona but our goal is to run the full NCWTS schedule if we can secure the additional funding.” Forrister said. “If we can work it out, we are going to try to run a couple of XFINITY Series races also.”

SS Green Light Racing co-owner Bobby Dotter will oversee the No. 08 Chevrolet team with veteran crew chief Tripp Bruce calling the shots from atop the pit box while B.J. McLeod will serve as team manager. B.J. McLeod Motorsports will provide additional team members and equipment for the Forrister’s run for NCWTS Rookie of the Year.

Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery and The Wounded Warrior Project have joined in the sponsorship of Forrister’s Chevrolets. Additional sponsors will be announced in the near future.

The Cedartown, Georgia native began racing go-karts as a young boy before graduating to the dirt tracks of the southeast in 2008. While Forrister’s passion for dirt track racing still drives him to compete in dirt track events today, the young driver’s aspiration to become a top driver within NASCAR led him to focus on asphalt racing making thirteen ARCA series starts between 2012 and 2013. Last season he moved into the NCWTS competing in six races for the SS Green Light Team with a career best finish of fifteenth at Phoenix in his final start of the season. “It’s been a long offseason and we have worked really hard to put this deal together, so I can’t wait to get started,” Forrister continued.

“I want to thank Bobby and the team who worked hard to make this all happen. Once Bobby introduced me to B.J. the whole deal came together quickly,” Korbin concluded. “I’m really excited to work with him and everyone on the team.”

One of the most tenured teams in all of NASCAR racing, the SS Green Light Racing team has run 335 consecutive NCWTS races, a streak that dates back to 2001.
