ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Daytona

·         Trevor Bayne returns to the sight of his first career NASCAR victory and one of the biggest wins in sports history; Daytona International Speedway (DIS). Bayne scored one of the biggest upsets in professional sports history in the 2011 running of the Daytona 500. Running up front for virtually the entire race, the young driver held off the field in a feverish green-white-checkered finish to earn his place in the annals of NASCAR history. Bayne capped off a dominant Speedweeks effort by becoming the youngest winner in the history of the “Great American Race” at 20 years and one day old.

·         Bayne makes his ninth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at DIS on Sunday when the green flag drops for the famed Daytona 500. In eight previous starts at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, Bayne has recorded one win, one top-five and one top-10 finish.

·         In his NSCS career on the restrictor-plate tracks of Daytona and Talladega Super Speedway, Bayne has paced the field of 43 for 61.6 miles (24 laps).

·         In the combined 29 starts at restrictor-plate tracks in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and the NSCS, Bayne has recorded one win, two top-five finishes, eight top-10 finishes and has led for 72 laps.

The Duels

·         Bayne will take the green flag for his fifth Duel 150 event from the eighth position after qualifying 15th overall in Sunday’s Daytona 500 qualifying session.

·         In four previous starts in the duels, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish, led 37 laps and has earned an average finish of 15th.

The No. 6 Returns to Daytona

·         Sunday’s Daytona 500 marks the first time since 2012 that a Roush Fenway No. 6 will compete in “The Great American Race.” Dating back to Feb. 14, 1988, a Roush Fenway No. 6 has recorded one win, 11 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes at the 2.5-mile oval.

·         Bayne is the fourth competitor to drive the No. 6 Ford in the Daytona 500 for Roush Fenway (Mark Martin, David Ragan and Ricky Stenhouse Jr). Both Martin and Ragan drove the car to victory lane at DIS.

The No. 6 Returns to Sprint Cup Racing Full-Time

·         Bayne makes his Roush Fenway Racing Sprint Cup debut this weekend at Daytona behind the wheel of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion. This marks the first time that a No. 6 Roush Fenway Ford will start a NSCS race since the 2012 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Bayne takes the wheel of the No. 6 Ford Fusion full time in 2015.

·         “I am very excited to be behind the wheel of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion full-time in 2015,” said Bayne. “The No. 6 is such a legendary number to both the sport and this company. To get to drive that this season and to have a great partner like AdvoCare behind us for the full season, you couldn’t ask for anything more. I can’t wait to get to the track.”

AdvoCare 6 Days to Daytona

·         For the six days leading up to the Daytona 500, AdvoCare is running a social media promotion giving fans and distributors the opportunity to win prizes from AdvoCare and Roush Fenway Racing. For more information about the promotion, click here.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Daytona:

“Daytona is such a special place for me. I mean, it has been special ever since I was a kid watching the Daytona 500 on TV, but winning here in 2011 is a moment that I will never forget. With all the history that comes with racing in Daytona, just knowing that my name is forever a part of that means everything to me. I love racing here. It’s a race that definitely keeps you on your toes from green to checker. Hopefully come days end on Sunday, we will have this No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion out front and get Jack (Roush) his third Daytona 500 victory.”

Bayne on 2015 Season:

“We are all ready to get going in 2015. With no testing this off season, all of the guys have been itching to get back to the race track. I am definitely excited to get back and to work with all of these guys on the No. 6 AdvoCare team. Having Bob (Osborne), a proven winner, atop the pit box this season really gives me confidence that we will be able to hit the ground running this season. I’m just ready to get back in the race car and work with my Roush Fenway teammates Greg Biffle and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to get all three of our cars into the Chase come September.”
