ADVANCE NOTES

·         Reed at Daytona

o   Reed has competed on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway (DIS) twice, earning a career-best finish of fourth in the July 2014 event after starting in the same position. Reed made his first restrictor plate appearance at DIS one year ago, resulting in an 18th-place finish after starting 39th.

·         Reed and Restrictor Plates

o   In addition to his start at Daytona one year ago and a fourth place finish in last July’s race at DIS, Reed has one additional restrictor plate start at Talladega Superspeedway. In 2014, Reed led 29 laps at the track before being collected in a mid-race accident.

o   Reed’s best qualifying efforts of 2014 came in Daytona’s July race and Talladega’s May race. He started from the fourth position in both events.

·         The Car

o   The No. 16 team will run a brand new chassis at DIS this weekend.

·         The Cause

o   For the second straight season, Roush Fenway Racing partners with the American Diabetes Association and Lilly Diabetes with the Drive to Stop Diabetes program to field the No. 16 car for Reed in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Reed, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2011, continues to serve as an ambassador to the diabetes community by raising awareness through his on-track performance and his community involvement.

·         2014 Recap

o   Reed’s NASCAR XFINITY series rookie season ended with a ninth-place finish in the championship standings. He led a total of 29 laps for the year and averaged a finish of 17.1, competing in all 33 races.

·         Appearances

o   Reed will participate in a Q&A at the Ford Display at DIS on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10:05 a.m.

Reed on Daytona:

“I’m really excited to get back to Daytona and to have the support of the American Diabetes Association and Lilly Diabetes for my sophomore season in the XFINITY Series. Getting our best finish of the year there in July and our first top-5 makes it a really special place to kick off the 2015 season. We always have super-fast cars at superspeedways and if we can stay out of trouble we will have a really good chance to run well. Starting our season off with a good finish this weekend would give us a lot of momentum for the upcoming races.”

Barbour on Daytona:

“Daytona marks the start of a new season and with a year of working together under our belts Ryan and I are excited to get back to the race track.  Our speedway program has always been competitive at Roush Fenway Racing and our best finish of the 2014 season came at Daytona.  We’re looking forward to building on that success with a strong finish this week.”
