BUDWEISER DUEL AT DAYTONA QUALIFYING RACES

TEAM CHEVY ON THE TRACK: DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY –
150-MILE QUALIFYING RACES –
· Chevrolet has won 47 of the 110 Budweiser Duel Qualifying Races held to set the field for the Daytona 500, (1959-2012, canceled due to rain in ’68)
· Four (4) of the last 10 Qualifying Races have been won by a Team Chevy driver (2010-2014)
· Team Chevy drivers entered into today’s Duel Races with previous victories are:
o Jeff Gordon, No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet SS, has five (5) Budweiser Duel wins, most of active NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers (’93,’02,’06,’07 &’09)
o Dale Earnhardt, Jr., No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS, has three (3) Qualifying Race wins (’03,’04 &’08)
o Tony Stewart, No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevrolet SS, has three victories (’05, ’07 & ’12)
o Kurt Busch, No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS, won his first Budweiser Duel in 2011
o Kevin Harvick, No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS, has one Qualifying Race win (2013)
o Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS, won a Budweiser Duel race in 2010
o Kasey Kahne, No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet SS, has one Budweiser Duel victory (2010)
· By earning the pole award for the Daytona 500, Jeff Gordon will lead the field to the green in his No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet SS in Duel race No. 1. And as the outside pole sitter for the Daytona 500, Jimmie Johnson will start first in Duel race No. 2 in his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS.
· A total of 14 Chevrolet drivers will start Budweiser Duel No. 1
· A total of 10 Chevrolet drivers will start Budweiser Duel No. 2
The Budweiser Duel at Daytona gets underway at 7:00 pm ET and will be aired live on FS1, MRN Radio, and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
