ADVANCE NOTES
Reed at Phoenix
· Reed has competed at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) three times in the NASCAR XFINITY Series – once in 2013 and twice in 2014, earning 15th, 22nd and 19th-place finishes, respectively.
· In his last appearance at PIR, Reed’s 19th-place finish came after running in the top-15 the majority of the day. An unscheduled green flag pit stop late in the race relegated Reed to finish in the 19th-position.
Reed in 2015
· Reed has an average finish of 10.7 after the first three races of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY season and is currently third in the championship standings, boasting one win in the first race of the season at Daytona International Speedway.
The Car
· The No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association team will run a chassis that was last on track in November 2014 at PIR and earned a 19th-place finish. The chassis also raced in the April and September races at Richmond International Raceway (12th and 16th, respectively) and at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in July (11th).
Las Vegas Recap
· Reed earned a 15th- place finish Saturday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in the 200-lap Boyd Gaming 300 after starting 18th and fighting an ill-handling car for the majority of the day.
· Reed ran as high as the second position at LVMS after crew chief Seth Barbour made the call for only two tires during the lap-46 caution flag, putting Reed up front for the ensuing restart.
Reed on Phoenix:
“I love going to Phoenix and I have a lot of friends and family on the West Coast that I will get to see. Phoenix has so much speed now from the new pavement and has so much grip, but really races like a short track for us. I love shorter tracks – I grew up racing on shorter tracks so I’m looking forward to going out there with our No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Ford Mustang and getting back to the grassroots and fundamentals of racing.”
