Bayne Records 28th-Place Finish in Phoenix

AVONDALE, Ariz. (March 15, 2015) – Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, took the checkered flag in the 28th position on Sunday afternoon at Phoenix International Raceway.

“We had some good speed in our car at the end of the race,” said Bayne after the race. “We just fought a loose handling condition all day long that we couldn’t shake. We’ll take this weekend and use it as a learning tool moving forward for this AdvoCare team as we head to Fontana.”

Bayne took the green flag from the 36th position and was quickly able to maneuver his way up to 31st by the completion of the first lap. Bayne would maintain his position until a strategy call by crew chief Bob Osborne during a Lap 14 caution saw the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion improve to 23rd after staying out on the race track while other cars chose to pit.

Bayne would take the Lap 19 restart in the 23rd position but a loose handling condition quickly developed, ultimately shuffling Bayne back to 31st and off of the lead lap during the first long green-flag run of the afternoon.

The loose handling condition persisted throughout the remainder of the 312-Lap event, but Bayne was able to pick up four positions on the final run to earn a 28th-place finish.
