RICHMOND, Va. – Harrison Rhodes scored his best seasonal finish in Friday night’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond International Raceway, bringing the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet home 22nd.

The finish is Rhodes’ best in seven Xfinity Series races this season, his rookie year. The race was his first in a national-series event at RIR.

“We’re gaining on it,” Rhodes said. “It was a pretty solid night for us. Stayed out of trouble and completed another full race. We’re gaining experience every week, and that’s a very good thing.”

Rhodes gained a spot in the Xfinity Series driver standings to 23rd.

Sprint Cup regular Denny Hamlin dominated the race to win, leading all but two of the 250 laps. Series point leader Ty Dillon finished ninth.

The series moves on to Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR’s biggest track, for a May 2 race.
