Brian Scott Finishes 36th at Dover International Speedway

Brian Scott and the No. 2 ACME/Kraft Singles Chevrolet team qualified fifth for the Buckle Up 200 presented by Click it or Ticket at Dover International Speedway. The 200-lap race began and Scott reported loose-handling conditions in his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. The team visited pit road on lap 58 for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. When the NASCAR XFINITY Series race restarted, Scott was scored in the ninth position. On Lap 65, Scott was collected in an on-track accident that ended the day for the ACME/Kraft Singles Chevrolet. The XFINITY Series returns to action on June 13 at Michigan International Speedway.

Start – 5 Finish – 36 Laps Led – 0 Points – 7

Brian Scott Quote:
“I guess this is just a product of racing a Dover. It was great to have ACME and Kraft Singles on board. We obviously wanted to give them a lot better run, I have to say thank you to them. Hopefully we’ll have a better day in the Sprint Cup Series race here at Dover.”

Ty Dillon Finishes Eighth at Dover International Speedway

Ty Dillon drove Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 WESCO Chevrolet Camaro to an eighth-place finish Saturday afternoon in his Chevrolet Camaro. Throughout the 200-lap event, Dillon reported the balance of the car was tight through the center of the corners and while driving in lap traffic. Crew chief Danny Stockman called for a two-tire pit stop on lap 102 to get Dillon some needed track position, which put Dillon in second place for the ensuing restart. The race remained under green-flag conditions for the remaining 98 laps and Dillon fell back to 10th place. Needing one final pit stop for Sunoco fuel and fresh Goodyear tires, Dillon brought the WESCO Chevrolet to pit road on lap 162. As the green-flag pit stops cycled through, he found himself back inside the top-10 running order. In the end, the No. 3 WESCO Chevrolet crossed the finish line eighth. Dillon remains second in the NASCAR XFINITY Series point standings.

Start – 12 Finish – 8 Laps Led – 0 Points – 2

TY DILLON QUOTE:
“We battled hard today in this WESCO Chevrolet. It would have been nice for a caution there at the end, but it happens. We’ll keep working hard and move on to the next race. I’m looking forward to making a Sprint Cup Series start next weekend in the No. 33 Yuengling America’s Oldest Brewery Chevrolet.”

Austin Dillon Finishes Fourth at Dover International Speedway

Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team earned a fourth-place finish Saturday afternoon at Dover International Speedway despite batting a tight-handling Chevrolet for a majority of the race. Dillon started the 200-lap affair from the eighth position and climbed his way to the lead by lap 42. After pacing the field for 17 laps, a caution flag was displayed on lap 55 for debris. The Rheem team pitted under yellow-flag conditions for four tires and fuel. Dillon returned to the racing surface in the third position for the restart and slipped to eighth when the green flag dropped. The Welcome, N.C. driver continued to fight a tight-handling machine in the closing laps of the race. Crew chief Nick Harrison called for right-side tires only and fuel on the final pit stop to improve track position. Dillon restarted sixth and worked his way through lapped traffic to the fourth position before taking the checkered flag. This weekend’s result marks the teams seventh top-five finish this season.

Start – 8 Finish – 4 Laps Led – 17 Owner’s Points – 3

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTE:
“Man, we battled our way to the front three or four times today. This Rheem Chevrolet had a lot of speed. Dover (International Speedway) changes so much throughout the course of a run. I really like running on concrete because you can move around, and it helps when you’re chasing the handling of the car. We fought a tight Chevrolet for most of the race, but Nick (Harrison, crew chief) and the guys have a lot to be proud of after today.”

Brendan Gaughan Finishes Seventh at Dover International Speedway and Qualifies for Second Dash4Cash Race

The No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet piloted by Brendan Gaughan started the Buckle Up 200 presented by Click it or Ticket at Dover International Speedway in the 11th position on Saturday afternoon. The 200-lap event began with Gaughan reporting loose-handling conditions from the start. During a caution on lap 55, the Shane Wilson-led team visited pit road for the first time of the day taking four tires, fuel and making a track bar adjustment. Restarting in the 12th position, the No. 62 Richard Childress team began their march through the field. The RCR team made their final pit stop of the day on lap 180 during a green-flag run. During this pit stop, Wilson called for four tires and fuel, which would give Gaughan the opportunity to make vital passes on the track leading him to a seventh-place finish. This gave the South Point team their sixth top-10 finish of the season and qualifired them for the second XFINITY Series Dash4Cash race that will take place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Gaughan is currently ninth in the XFINITY Series driver point standings leading into an off weekend for the Series.

Start – 11 Finish – 7 Laps Led – 0 Points – 9

BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTE:
“The South Point Chevrolet was good today. On that last stop we took four tires to put us in a good position if the caution did come out there at the end. We ran solid all day and never really had any problems. We came home seventh with great equipment from Richard Childress Racing and ECR Engines. More importantly, we qualified for the XFINITY Series Dash4Cash race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I am super excited to go there and be eligible for the $100,000 bonus.”
