ADVANCE NOTES

Biffle at Michigan

Biffle has 24 Sprint Cup career starts at Michigan, earning four wins, 10 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes.

Michigan is Biffle’s second-best average finishing track.  His average finish is 11.5 from an average starting position of 13.7.

Biffle has led a lap in all but eight of his 24 starts at Michigan.

1,000th Win for Ford

Biffle claimed the 1,000th NASCAR win for Ford with his victory at Michigan in the spring of 2013.  The win made Father’s Day extra special for Biffle since he was able to celebrate with his daughter in victory lane.

Laps Led

Biffle has led a total of 593 laps at Michigan International Speedway.  The only other two tracks where Biffle has led more laps are Texas and Darlington.

One Year Ago at Michigan

Early on it seemed as if Biffle’s No. 16 Ford Fusion was on its way to the front, but instead the team spent the race battling for grip.  Biffle was able to come back from being a lap down to cross the finish line 20th.

In the Points

Biffle is currently 18th in the point standings, 25 points out of 16th.

Safety-Kleen

Safety-Kleen provides environmental services to most race tracks and race teams across North America.  They are an official sponsor of NASCAR and a founding partner of the NASCAR Green program.

Biffle on Michigan:

“I don’t know what it is about Michigan, but it’s one of my favorite tracks to go to and is a great track for Roush.  I’m undefeated in the Truck series, two races, two wins and four wins in the Cup series.  It’s just one of those race tracks that I love the way it’s laid out.  I love the speed of it.  Multiple lanes, we can run two, three lanes wide at a downforce race track and get clean air on the front of the car so you can make passes.  It’s always a strategy race and those are the things I love about Michigan and I can’t wait to race there this weekend.”

Puccia on Michigan:

“I’m looking forward to going to Michigan this weekend.  It’s always great to go back to Ford’s backyard and always special to run good there because it’s Jack’s backyard.  We’ve been working really hard on our cars and are heading in the right direction.  Michigan is the perfect track to try and get us our first win of the season.”
