Levine Ready To Kick It Up A Notch At Michigan

Driver: David Levine
Series: ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards
Event: Corrigan Oil 200
Track: Michigan International Speedway
Team: Lira Motorsports
Car: No. 59 Momo / TraqGear / Ford Performance Ford Fusion
Race Date: June 12, 2015

Fueled by winning Rookie of the Race honors just a few days ago at Pocono, David Levine is ready to kick it up a notch for Friday night’s Corrigan Oil 200 at Michigan International Speedway. This will be his first race at the Southeastern Michigan track, known for its wide racing surface, sweeping corners and long straightaways. The layout has consistently made this the fastest track on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule, with pole speeds typically three to five miles per hour faster than Daytona and Talladega.

David enters the race fresh off an 8th place finish at Pocono. He is currently 5th in the driver points standings, with his Pocono finish cutting his deficit to the fourth place driver in half, from 65 to just 30 points. David maintains his position as the leader in the Scott Rookie Challenge standings, a position he has held for the majority of the season.

David Levine on Michigan International Speedway: “Michigan is a track I’ve been looking forward to racing at all season. It’s going to be fast! I’ve never been to Michigan, and although I’ve been practicing it on iRacing, I still don’t know quite what to expect. Last weekend we had a great car over the long run, kept the nose clean, and ran all the laps – that’s the same thing me and my Lira Motorsports TraqGear/Momo/Ford Performance team will aim to accomplish in Michigan… It’s been our goal all year.”

On track details… The ARCA Series drivers are scheduled for a practice session on Thursday, June 11th from 1:00-3:30pm. Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell begins Friday, June 12th at 10:00am. Race time is Friday at 5:45pm. All times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time. In addition to live race coverage on FOX Sports 2, arcaracing.com will feature live timing and scoring of all on-track activities.
