Irish Hills…Justin Allgaier and the No. 51 Switch Hitch team stop at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) this weekend. Allgaier has two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at the 2.0-mile track. Allgaier finished 16th in last year’s spring race at MIS. While he is only making his third NSCS start at MIS, Allgaier is no stranger to the Brooklyn, Mich., track. He has five starts in the XFINITY Series, with 14 laps led, and four starts in the ARCA Racing Series.

Switch Hitch…The No. 51 Chevy’s primary sponsor this weekend at MIS is Switch Hitch. This is Switch Hitch’s first primary race with HScott Motorsports. Switch Hitch was a co-primary sponsor on the No. 51 Chevy at Martinsville Speedway earlier this season. Switch Hitch was invented by Terry Brinkley after he experienced problems with traditional hitch balls. Switch Hitch is a tri-ball hitch system designed to quickly switch from one ball to another through a patented switching and locking mechanism. For more information, visit www.switch-hitch.com.

See Justin…On Friday, June 12, Allgaier will join the television broadcast booth as a guest announcer for the ARCA race. Television coverage will be carried live beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 2. On Saturday, June 13 from 11:00 – 11:15 a.m. EDT, Allgaier will appear for a Q&A at the Team Chevy stage located in the MIS Fan Zone. On Sunday, June 14, from 9:45 – 10:00 a.m. EDT, Allgaier will participate in a Q&A at the Budweiser Acceleration tent. A ticket must be purchased for entrance into the Acceleration tent.

Pocono Race Recap…The NSCS made its first Pocono Raceway stop of the season last weekend. Allgaier qualified the SEM Products Chevy 30th for last weekend’s race and drove the SEM Products Chevy to the 20th position for HScott Motorsports. Last Sunday’s finish was Allgaier’s second Pocono top-20 finish in three NSCS starts at the 2.5-mile triangle.

Justin Allgaier on Michigan International Speedway:

“I love going to Michigan [International Speedway]. It’s one of my favorite tracks because it’s unique compared to most of the tracks we go to during the season. There are plenty of different grooves to race in, and the speeds we reach are pretty incredible. It’s also a big weekend because we are close to Chevy’s home. This is one of the races that we all earmark as drivers because it would be extra special to win. We had a good spring race last year, and I know we can improve on the finishing position. I’m excited to have Switch Hitch back on board this weekend, and can’t wait to get in the car on Sunday.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Michigan International Speedway:

“Michigan [International Speedway] is a good track for Justin. He has a lot of experience there and always talks about how much he likes it. We would have two good finishes at Michigan had we not been caught up in an accident. There are a few different racing lines since the track is pretty wide, and that’s always helpful. It gives Justin the ability to search around for the best groove for his car. We have a good notebook to work from for this weekend, and everybody at HScott Motorsports has been working really hard.”

About Competition Director and Crew Chief Steve Addington:

Spartanburg, S.C. native Steve Addington joined HScott Motorsports in January 2014 as competition director and crew chief for the No. 51 Switch Hitch Chevrolet SS. Steve comes to the team from Stewart-Haas Racing, where he spent two seasons as crew chief on the No. 14 team, earning four wins with Tony Stewart. Addington also served as a NSCS crew chief at Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing, racking up a total of 20 wins in the series. Addington began his career working on dirt cars and is a former XFINITY crew chief. Addington resides in China Grove, N.C. with his wife Katie and has three children.
