CHASTAIN ADVANCES IN STANDINGS

BROOKLYN, Mich. – A 21st-place finish in Saturday’s Great Clips 250 at Michigan International Speedway lifted rookie Ross Chastain into 15th place in the Xfinity Series driver standings.

Chastain, debuting the Rally’s/Checkers Chevrolet with JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, qualified 23rd and raced strong all afternoon, finishing one lap down in 21st.
The finish boosted Chastain one spot in the seasonal standings.
“A good day today for the Rally’s/Checkers car,” Chastain said. “We are so appreciative of them coming on board for this race, and we wanted to do the best we could for them. I was hoping for a better finish, but, all in all, it was a pretty good day. We continue to stay strong in the points.”Kyle Busch won the race, and Chris Buescher finished fourth to increase his point lead.

The series moves on to Chicagoland Speedway for a June 20 event.
