Looking for the Hat-Trick in the ‘Golden State’
In 92 NSCS starts at Sonoma, Roush Fenway has recorded two wins, 14 top-five finishes, 33 top-10 finishes and has led 274 laps. Roush Fenway enters this weekend as the defending winner of this event, earning the victory with former driver Carl Edwards last season.
Hasta La Vista Baby
Roush Fenway has left the California road course victorious on two occasions in the NSCS with former drivers Mark Martin and Edwards. Martin earned the victory in 1997 after starting from the pole and leading 69 laps, while Edwards started fourth and led 26 laps in the 2014 running of this event.
I’ll be Back
Roush Fenway looks to win consecutive races at Sonoma for the first time in its 28 year history. A victory would also tie Sonoma with Watkins Glen International in wins for the organization with three.
On the Road Again
Overall, Roush Fenway has made 186 starts on road courses in the NSCS and has earned five wins, 37 top-five finishes, 74 top-10 finishes and six pole positions on the tracks of Watkins Glen, Riverside Raceway and Sonoma.
Double-Duty for Bayne
Roush Fenway driver Trevor Bayne will do double-duty this weekend as he will pilot the No. 60 AdvoCare Ford Fusion for Bill McAnally Racing at Sonoma on Saturday afternoon along with the NSCS on Sunday.
Five Straight Top-10s
Roush Fenway has currently had at least one car finish inside the top 10 at Sonoma in five consecutive races dating back to 2010.
Off-Weekend
The NASCAR XFINITY Series has the weekend off but will return to the track next weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
In the Points
Roush Fenway currently has all four XFINITY Series drivers inside the top-nine in the championship standings. Two-time race winner Chris Buescher remains first, with teammates Bubba Wallace, Elliott Sadler and Ryan Reed ranking fifth, sixth and ninth, respectively.
