ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Reed has made just one start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In 2014, Reed finished 11th after starting 13th and ran inside the top 10 for the majority of the race.

He also has one start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at NHMS. In 2011, he finished 34th after being involved in an incident during the race.

Reed on one-mile tracks

So far this season, Reed has competed on the one-mile tracks of Phoenix and Dover, where he earned 13th- and 11th-place finishes, respectively.

Riding with Ryan

American Diabetes Association® Youth Ambassador Stone Lozano of Upton, Mass. will have his name featured on a decal above the passenger-side door on the No. 16 Ford Mustang this weekend at NHMS.

The active 10-year-old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was eight years old, but hasn’t let the disease slow him down. In May 2015, Lozano rode 15 miles in the American Diabetes Association’s North Shore Tour de Cure® cycling event after months of fundraising.

Kentucky Recap

Reed finished 14th at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night after starting 12th and running inside the top 15 for the majority of the race.

2015 Season

Reed is currently 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings after one win and 11 top-15 finishes.

He is the leading closer in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, improving a total of 31 positions in the last 10 percent of this season’s races.

Reed and teammate Chris Buescher are the only XFINITY Series regulars to win a race so far this season.

Reed on New Hampshire

“I love this track and we had a really good run last year. I didn’t do a very good job of restarting on two tires at the end of the race, so going back I feel like I need to redeem myself. We were a top-10 car all day so I think we can improve on that this weekend and compete for a win.”

Local Connection

The lead race engineer for the No. 16 team, Katelyn Bernasconi, calls NHMS her home track. Bernasconi hails from Gilford, N.H., just 20 minutes from NHMS.

Joey Mattis, pit support personnel on the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang, also calls NHMS home. He is from Springfield, Mass., which is a little over two hours from the racetrack.

Craig Herrmann, engine tuner for the No. 16 team, is also from the area. He hails from Albany, N.Y., a little over three hours from NHMS.

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag NHMS on Saturday, July 18 at  4 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and PRN.
