ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse Jr. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Stenhouse Jr. has four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with an average starting position of 23.8 and average finishing position of 26.5.

One Year Ago at New Hampshire

In the backyard of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Group, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. lined up in the 11th-position for the final green-white-checkered finish and quickly maneuvered his Ford into the ninth position by the time the checkered flag waved.

New Hampshire Native

Chris Church, a diehard Boston RedSox fan, grew up in Haverhill, MA, which is a little over an hour from NHMS.

In the Points

With an 11th-place finish last weekend in Kentucky, Stenhouse Jr. moved up two spots in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings to 26th with nine races remaining until the Chase.

Fastenal

Fastenal is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NSCS for Roush Fenway. They spent three years on the No. 99 before jumping over to the No. 17 entry, and were the primary partner on the No. 60 XFINITY team that captured the owner’s championship in 2011.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at New Hampshire:

“We always look forward to racing at New Hampshire because it is the home track for Fenway Sports Group. New Hampshire is a fast one-mile track with multiple grooves. We had a solid finish in Kentucky last weekend so we will look to carry that momentum into this weekend and hopefully earn another top-10 finish like we had last year.”

Sandler on racing at New Hampshire:

“We’ve had some success on the short tracks this season so we are looking forward to racing at Fenway Sports Group’s home track. Track position is key at New Hampshire so qualifying will be really important on Friday. Entry into turn three is really rough so you want to make sure you have a good-handling race car. Ricky had a strong run there last year so if we can execute on pit road then we should be able to leave New Hampshire with a top-10 finish.”
