Bayne Finishes 32nd in New Hampshire

LOUDON, N.H. (July 19, 2015) – Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, recorded a 32nd-place finish on Sundayafternoon in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

“We fought hard all race,” said Bayne after the race.  “Our AdvoCare Ford was just tight in the center throughout the day. I want to thank (crew chief) Bob (Osborne) and everyone on this Roush Fenway team for all the hard work they put into these race cars. We’ll move on and get ready to roll next weekend in Indy.”

Bayne began the 301-Lap event from the 31st position and immediately reported to crew chief Bob Osborne that the handling of the AdvoCare Ford was loose on entry and exit of the corner and tight through the center. Despite the handling condition, Bayne moved his way up to 29th just after a Lap 26 restart and would maintain his track position throughout the ensuing green flag run.

Then, as some of the race leaders began to make their way to pit road, Bayne maneuvered his Roush Fenway Racing Ford into the 12thposition before the caution came out once again on Lap 96. After pitting for four tires and a chassis adjustment, the Knoxville, Tenn. native returned to the track in the 20th position.

Utilizing a three-wide move on the Lap 107 restart, Bayne raced his way into the 17th position before the tight handling condition returned to the AdvoCare Ford. With the handling condition persisting, Bayne fell down a lap to the race leaders before being forced to pit early under green due to a right-front tire issue. Returning to the track in the 33rd position, Bayne continued to battle in the hopes of earning the free pass back onto the lead lap.

In the closing stages, Bayne and crew continued to work on the persisting tight handling condition, ultimately leading to a 32nd-place finish.

Next up for the NSCS is Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 26.
