Analyzing The Lucas Oil National 250 At Autodrome St-Eustache
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 22, 2015) – The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 will head to Quebec for the third of four events in the province this year with the Lucas Oil National 250 presented by Lacroix Tuning on Saturday at Autodrome St-Eustache. Below is a statistical look at the performance of the series and selected drivers at the track:
Lucas Oil National 250 Setup:
- Season points leader Scott Steckly is the two-time defending winner at Autodrome St-Eustache. In NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 history, only Andrew Ranger has won three consecutive races at one track.
- Steckly will also look to match the series record for total wins at one track, currently held by J.R. Fitzpatrick with five at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
- Additionally, Steckly has won the two previous races this year, which means he will vie to become the first driver to win three consecutive events since 2013, when he last did it.
- St-Eustache native and Circuit ICAR winner Kevin Lacroix is set to make his first oval start, and just his third overall in the series.
At Autodrome St-Eustache:
History
- Was founded in 1965 as Fury Speedway de Fabreville, and the current configuration has played host various types of racing since 1970. The track was purchased by Alan Labrosse prior to the 2008 race season.
- Facility also includes a 1-mile road course and .125-mile drag strip.
- Was a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series member track from 2004-09, and returned to the program in 2014.
- Welcomed the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for four events from 2008-10, and again in 2013-14.
- Was the only oval in Quebec to play host to a NCATS event prior to 2014.
Notebook
- Scott Steckly won the inaugural NCATS Autodrome St-Eustache event on July 5, 2008.
- The previous six events have produced three different race victors, led by Steckly’s four.
- Each of the six prior races has featured a different polesitter.
- Three drivers have participated in all six events, and three are expected to extend the streak this week.
- A driver has yet to win from the pole, and only one event has run beyond the scheduled 250-lap distance.
- Dodge has been the winning manufacturer in all six events.
