ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Pocono

Bayne will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Pocono Raceway this weekend.

Bayne recorded a 24th-place finish in the June NSCS event at the triangular track earlier this season after starting from the 33rd position.

The driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion also earned a victory in the June ARCA Racing Series event after starting from the pole position and leading 42 laps.

Bob Osborne at Pocono

Osborne will call his 19th NSCS race at Pocono on Sunday afternoon. In 18 previous starts, Osborne has recorded two wins, five top-five finishes, seven top-10 finishes and has an overall average finish of 14.4.

Osborne’s two victories at the “Tricky Triangle” came in the June 2005 event and the Aug. 2008 event with former Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards.

Recapping Indianapolis

Bayne fought a tight handling condition throughout the 164-Lap race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and was involved in a late-race incident that ultimately led to a 40th-place finish.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing in Pocono:

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Pocono. We ran well there in the spring, especially with winning the ARCA race. It is a lot of fun to race at that track. The corners are all so different that you really need to be on your toes and have a perfect lap each lap. I’m excited to get there and give this AdvoCare Ford a good run.”
