Stenhouse Jr. Will Make His 100th NASCAR Sprint Cup Start at Bristol

CONCORD, N.C (Aug. 19, 2015) – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will make his 100th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start this weekend at Bristol, a track where he has seen success scoring two top-five and three top-10 finishes in his last three starts.

“I’m really looking forward to Bristol this weekend and can’t think of a better track to have my 100th Sprint Cup start,” Stenhouse said. “I think the night race at Bristol is one of the best short-track races of our season. After finishing fourth in the spring, I’m looking forward to Saturday night. Hopefully, we can get our Fastenal Ford into victory lane, which would be their first Sprint Cup Series win along as my first Sprint Cup win.”

In March of 2014, with less than 80 laps remaining, the Olive Branch, Miss. native restarted fourth and steadily marched his way up through the field, setting his sights on teammate Carl Edwards who was leading the 500-lap race. After an unexpected caution came with two laps remaining followed by a rain shower, Stenhouse settled for a second-place finish; his best career NSCS finish.

The IRWIN Tools Night race will be televised on Aug. 22, 2015 on NBCSN at 7:30 p.m. ET. Race coverage can also be heard on Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SIRIUS Channel 90.
