ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse Jr. at Dover International Speedway

Stenhouse has six career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Dover with an average starting position of 19.0 and average finishing position of 23.2.

Combined with XFINITY starts, Stenhouse Jr. has a total of 12 career starts at the Monster Mile.

Last time at Dover

After earning his best starting position of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started the 400-lap race in the ninth position but was forced to take his Ford to the garage after something broke in the front end on lap 164. Thanks to the speedy work by the No. 17 team, Stenhouse Jr. was able to return to the track and pick up six positions salvaging a 37th-place finish in Sunday’s race at Dover International Speedway.

On the Car

Fastenal is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NSCS for Roush Fenway. They spent three years on the No. 99 before jumping over to the No. 17 entry, and were the primary partner on the No. 60 XFINITY team that captured the owner’s championship in 2011.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Dover:

“Dover is a tough track. Earlier this year we qualified in the top-10 but something broke during the race which sent us to the garage. We’ve had three top-20 finishes the past three weeks so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the final eight races and keep improving as we get ready for the 2016 season.”

Nick Sandler on racing at Dover:

“Roush Fenway as an organization has been a strong competitor at Dover in the past so hopefully we can continue that success this weekend. Track position is crucial. Earlier this year, we qualified in the top-10 and had a good car overall but had an issue that ended our day. Dover is a tough track but I think if we can stay near the front then we will leave Dover with another solid finish.”
