RAIN CANCELS ACTIVITIES FRIDAY AT DOVER
Persistent Precipitation Cancels Practice and Qualifying for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Race
DOVER, Del. – (October 2, 2015) – Torrential downpours and heavy rain canceled all of the day’s track activities at Dover International Speedway on Friday. With the complete rainout, the starting lineup for Sunday’s AAA 400 will be set per the rulebook and the current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings.
The nine Chevrolet Chase contenders will start as follows:
5th – Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS
6th – Ryan Newman, No. 31 Quicken Loans Chevrolet SS
7th – Kurt Busch, No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS
9th – Martin Truex, Jr., No. 78 Furniture Row/Visser Precision Chevrolet SS
10th – Jeff Gordon, No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevrolet SS
11th – Jamie McMurray, No. 1 Nature Made Chevrolet SS
12th – Dale Earnhardt, Jr., No. 88 Nationwide Plenti Chevrolet SS
14th – Paul Menard, No. 27 Knauf/Menards Chevrolet SS
15th – Kevin Harvick, No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS
The 400-lap/400-mile AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday October 4. Live coverage will be available on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), MRN, Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 90 and NASCAR.com.
